I recently read a post that gave me the idea to post this...a day in the life of French...
Because I work weekend nights, and also at my husband's shop during the week my life is anything but normal but to me busy is a good thing!
Sunday and Monday~~this is the day I usually try to catch up on laundry and housecleaning...(yuk) then by 2pm I am usually lying down for a nap ( or at least trying to!) I wake at 5pm get ready and off to work I go from 7pm to 7am...once I finish giving report and signing off of that job I then drive to DH's shop and check to see what mail has come in, checks, do the banking and set up the girl Friday for her daily chores. I then come home check emails, write a bit if it comes to me, Blog then off to bed around 11 or 12 noon, at this point I have usually been up for about 28 to 29 hours. I then get up around 5 or 6, check email decide what to do for dinner Monday evenings.
Tuesday~~ get up around 8 am grab some coffee check emails, and blog, do some banking online, get out some replies then off to the shop. My days there include answering phones, organizing and assisting with the scheduling, going over weekly events then usually a trip to the bank and grocery store, sometimes a stop at the post office then home to do the dinner and homework thing again. Catch up on emails, write a bit, then sit to veg in front of the TV for awhile. Everyone goes off to bed usually by 11pm and that's when I really get to write and blog.
Wednesday~~repeat of Tuesday only my son has Tae Kwon Do classes so off to take him to class after the day at the shop. Usually at the grocery store again!
Thursday~~ this is the day I usually get to the shop a little earlier. Today is the day I work on payroll, and taxes, off to the bank again squeeze in appointments this day, such as Dr. or dentist if needed. A visit to the accountant's office, back home for homework and dinner plans, off to Tae Kwon Do again, and laundry catch up again!
Friday~~ Off to the shop, finish up going over the week's appointments, send out bills, call in quotes, mail out finished jobs invoices, set up next week's schedule, off to the bank and home by noon. Laying back down trying to catch 40 winks until 5 pm then off to work again at 7pm to 7 am...
Saturday~~~ Once I get home from work around 8 or 9 am depending on the kind of night I had. Sit and visit with hubby, check emails, do some more banking, and off to bed around 11 am wake around 5 pm and tonight is the only night off I really have where I do much of nothing, except try to catch up on all the shows I have taped for later viewing. Then it starts all over again Sunday!
Now somewhere in all of this I have to try and find time to decorate again! I miss it! I want to work on my son's room, but by the time I get home in the evenings I am just mentally exhausted, and on weekends after working at the hospital I am mentally and physically exhausted! I have terrible back problems and the hospital job is taking a toll on it! Not sure how many years this back of mine has left pulling and tugging and fighting all the patients I have to deal with! I have a to do list longer than a football field, ( or at least it seems that way) for things that need to be done here at home! And now with Thanksgiving and Christmas just around the corner I know it will be time to add baking, and shopping to the already too long list! I have a friend that needs my help but feel terrible I haven't had the time to help her! So this coming week I am taking a day to spend some time with her;)
I would love to be able to write more often because I am truly enjoying it! So I am adding to my previous list of things I want to do.... I want to write and decorate! That's it!
Does any one else feel overwhelmed at times?
And with all of this I am considering taking another part-time job for some extra cash for Christmas...somebody shoot me! Have I put you all to sleep?
Had a mix up posting but Chapter 4 of Blogge'ville is NOW available;)
Hugs Madame French;)

Put me to sleep? I'm exhausted just reading your schedule! You're making me feel guilty complaining about my day....I wish I had more time (and money) to decorate, too. ~ Robyn
Girlfriend, I could never keep up with you!!! I can feel overwhelmed. And I only work 3 dyas a week from 9am until 5 pm. I do book for our business, too!! But, that's enough!!! You need to allow yourself to take a break!!
Hugs, Terrie
OMG! There was a time when I was buzy like that and your story reminded me of it... I am exhausted from just reading it and don't know how you manage to sqeeze in the novel writing let alone another thing... I am so glad I am retired :-D It's offical I know now that you are the BOMB!

French... I know how your days usually go... but seeing it in print makes me want to take a nap for you! (LOL) Girl I don't know how you do you! You are superwoman! Do you have an S on your chest? (or is that just a C) LOL. I can't believe that I am awake at 3:55am. (LOL)

Miss you much!
Donna
Hi Madame French...Dang girl...you don't lead a life...you run a marathon. Whew! If I did half of what you do, I'd meet myself coming & going...Love the new blogopera emblem...gonna steal it, OK? ;-) Bo
Good Grief, I'm exhausted reading about your routine. My girls have a lifestyle like you, I don't know how ya'll do it. I think that's why they miss us so much when were away, we fill in with appointments, taxi service or anything else we are able to help out with.I don't want to live like that anymore, but I love helping. And if I lived near you, I'd be doing some of your errands too. Makes me feel needed. LOL
Hugs,
Chris
Ok, bend over I need to wind you up again!!!Heee LOL Kathy
I have too tell everyone that you have always been an inspiration in my life growing up. You are one of those people who always has such great advise for others but never gives themself anytime off. You are so gifted but you have no idea. I hope you have a wonderful day. Love Your bff bev
Bev!You finally got to post! Thanks dear friend, and thanks for the phone call it was realy nice hearing from you;) Lisaxoxox
God bless you French. I don't know how you do it. You are one amazing Superwoman.
I remember that you and KK transformed and decorated a friend's house. What was the final outcome of it?
Naz~~~she sold her house to the first buyer that went through! She just moved into her new home around the corner from me;) French
"Oui", I am liking your new pen name.
I'm exhausted from just reading your list. Some advice from 'the town therapist' (wink, wink) and 'someone who has been there and done similar'; slow down girl as it will catch up with you. Please take more time for YOURSELF
and don't be guilt-ridden in doing so. (Now that will be $250.00 for the first session. You can pay the receptionist on your way out.)
With concern....
Lisa! You have to got find some down time for yourself. All that working just can't be healthy for you. I know G-Man's business isn't exactly hopping, but can't he hire someone to do what you've been doing? As for the nursing, have you thought about maybe going into a supervisory position or something non-patient related? My poor French. You've worn me out!
Justine :o )
Not sure how you do it. You must have a HUGE storage place for needed energy!
French, I had no idea she sold it so quickly! Wow...especially in these difficult times of selling a house, that's amazing. I'm sure you and KK got so much satisfaction after completing the project. This is just wonderful news of your friend moving just around the corner. I'm so very happy for you. :D
No, you sure didn't bore me but you made me feel like a sloth. lol Oh wait, that's what I have been for the past four months! Hopefully my activity level is going to pick up drastically now.
I hope I can find a job for some of that extra holiday cash too but you know, just having each other is what really matters!
Lots of Love, Bridget (Bunny) off to read chapter four!
Wow, I can totally relate to your post and that feeling of being so ovewhemed. My life rolls at paces I can't keep up with but at least I don't have to work night shifts- I think that would do me in.
Somehow, somwhere, in that busy schedule you really need to factor in some time for yourself. I'll tell you how when I've figured it out myself LOL .....but seriously - stress is taking its' toll on my health so plllease take some "me" time for yourself.
I'm off the see the Richard Gere and Diane Lane movie with a girlfirend tonight......so excited about going to the movies cause I obviously don't have a life!
take care,
Bre

French!!, I agree with everyone else, find some down time and please, please take care of your back problems, your physical exhaustion I can totally understand and you should definately be mentally exhausted but oh no!! not if you can come up with such a genius storyline over at blogville!! with all the twists and turns, you are an inspiration your really are, take care, Kathy
Okay Sis...Pass me the gun. I'll just shoot you in the foot so you need to slow down.
Don't take another job for Christmas. Stuff isn't worth that much...they'd probbly rather have you around then stuff. Just thoughts.
Then the other side of me says...yep...do it while you can, I'm with ya!!
Just call me Sybil. Hope you are taking your vities?!
Hi French :-) ... My heart goes out to you and not sure how to express how I'm feeling after reading your post SO, I'll 'ditto' what Mrs. Ben said. - Sincerely, SherylCanadianGirl
I honestly don't know how you do it! I use to work 7pm to 7am I loved when I worked for Pepsi I loved that shift, but it got old. Deb
Oh-my-God! How in the world do you do it!!!??? Ok what drugs are you on and can you send me some!? LOL!!! Like the rest, I'm pooped reading it! Buffie : )
Hi French! Thank you so much for your concern about my family and me during the hurricane. We're truly blessed. I'll be posting soon.
Oh, by the way, what kind of vitamins do you take? I need 10 doses!!
Be a sweetie,
Shelia :)
I'm amazed that you get anything done other than work with your schedule! You have a very demanding schedule but I know that you have to keep it up right now. There was a time that I worked three jobs and 70 hours a week. It was extremely hard but it's what I had to do at the time. Work is picking up around here right now but usually I have a much easier schedule than yours. I hope it calms down soon and that your husbands business picks up.
What a schedule!! It's a good thing you are young. Someday, you will marvel at all you have accomplished. And when you are an empty-nester, you'll long for a few of those super-busy days. Sally
Whew!...thats quite a full schedule!...Sure makes time fly-by! I also worked 2 jobs until I was 40 years old....now I just have one..but TONS of hours....but I dont have a family to take care of..just me and Rick..and our never ending visitors...(we have company almost every weekend..something about living on a lake that makes you popular.) Take care, take some time out for yourself... go to a spa!~Cindy`
I just read your schedule and feel as if I need to go take a nap. No wonder your back hurts. Take some time for YOU!
Thanks for visiting Susan's today and saying such nice things. You're a sweetie. Hope all is well with you and your cute family. I miss all the good old days on RMS. I just plain don't have time to blog and I'm not interesting enough to think of things to write about. I do enjoy living vicariously through everyone else though!!!!
love ya, Carol
hey you busy beautiful girl!! I just wanted to stop by and give you some love!!! ~Melissa
Hey French Fry!!!! I had the WORST day at work today! I was tricked in to going to a 4 hour meeting! (Regarding Business Insurance) I was stuck in a conferene room with 3 agressive salesmen and my scattered brained boss. At one point, I was trying to gnaw my arm off to get loose!!! (LOL) I felt like a mouse caught in a trap!
What a day!!!
xoxooxoxoxox
Miss ya Much,
Donna

P.S. Please take care of YOU! We will patiently wait out here in blogland when you need some rest...we aren't going anywhere! Susan
