Those that have followed my blog know I am not much of a drinker...in fact other than the occasional glass of wine with dinner it's rare to see me with anything other than a coffee in my hand. But if I do indulge I can't deny Martini's would be my drink of choice.
Let's settle in after all the holiday hubbub, and let's have cocktail hour for a job well done everyone!!
Cocktails for two;) With none other than my favorite flavor for mixing sour apple Martini's..of course you have to have something sweet (for her) the chocolate and something salty the peanuts (for him);)
So put your feet up, the craziness of the holidays are over with and it's a brand New Year to look forward to. The past is behind us and we look forward...... anticipating what lies ahead.
Looks like they are trying to sneak a kiss in!
Hope everyone has a wonderful New Year filled with beautiful memories of family and friends! Take pleasure in the small things, sometimes we often overlook them. And if all else fails remember one thing.....
"Insanity is described as repeating the same thing over and over and expecting different results". Step outside of the situation and ask yourself what can I do differently to change the course of action...maybe a small shift is all you need;)
Enjoy the recipes just remember no drinking and blogging...as this may lead to drinking and dialing which is NEVER recommended (lol)!!
Sour Apple Martini
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz Vodka
2 oz Sour Apple Mix
Shake with ice and strain into a Martini glass
White Cosmopolitan

Shake with ice and strain into a Martini glass
Lemon Drop Martini
1 oz Cointreau

Enjoy life to the fullest and NEVER look back unless your going that way;)
Hugs French;)

Be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
This was a very cool post. I love your martini glasses. Can you believe I've never had a martini.
I am not much of a drinker. I do drink a glass of wine once in awhile. Or a ice cold beer on a really hot day.
Hugs, Terrie
Oooh how pretty! What a nice cocktail setting!
I had an appletini for the first time the other day and it was disgusting. It tasted like Comtrex cold medicine. Is that how it's supposed to taste? Blech.
What a great post, French. The birds are gorgeous--and I love the tray. Just beautiful! The recipes are a neat touch, too.
((hugs))
I did my booze hound thing when I was in university...it is a wonder I have any brain cells left at all! Now a days...I am like you...I love the glasses and things for the booze, but don't drink much...Your display is wonderful Ma'Dame!
French, this is just gorgeous girl. You know I love the "bling" of the birds and the tray.. the recipe is a nice touch as well..Your tray is just gorgeous.. hope you snuck that kiss in..:-)

I could use a drink! But then I may mess up your tray and get the birds soggy...:p I think this qualifies as a tablescape! Peanuts and chocolate are food after all!
French, your blog looks great! I think I am really liking the British colonial look too, (just bought a couple of new pictures to hang, I will have to post a few photos). Not sure how it all works in our log type home though...?? I have never had a martini, but willing to try one! Hope all is well, Cindy
I always thought martinis were strong and yucky. I'm not much of a drinker but tried one this past summer and it was so YUMMY!! I tried the chocolate. I was told there is a lot of booze in a martini so I only had one. It only takes two drinks and I'm slurrrring my words!
Love the display. Makes me want to grab a blanket, lay on the couch with the fireplace going and have a cocktail. Yummy.
Beautiful tray... nice little touches that make it wonderful!
It's beautiful. A great Tablescape Tuesday post!
I've only ever had 2 martinis. One a Dirty Martini...no did not like it...the other a Chocolate Martini, that one I did like.
Oh I am a Cosmo gal. I know its supposed to be cocktails for two, but can I just squeeze in here and grab a drink and a few peanuts? LOL
This is so cute!!!
Hello, hope you are feeling better. I had a martini for the first time this past summer. It was chocolate and oh, SO YUMMY!! A couple of those and I could be in SO much trouble!! Hey, have ya heard from Buffie. I tried emailing her but it got sent back. Not sure if the email I have is right or not. Twin and I are kinda worried so if ya know something could you email us and let us know she's okay? Thanks.
Just give me the sweet and the salty and I will be happy. Beautifully set tray - enjoy the New Year!! Sally
What fun! I'll take a white cosmo or shoot! just pour me up the vodka straight, after all that holiday eating I've put myself on restriction for extra calories!!
Hi Lisa! Couldn't miss your tablescape. It's a lovely set-up! I love Apple Martini's that is also my choice of drink if I have one. I never tried the Contreau, I'll have to try some at my next party! Deb
I love to have a drink, You are so ready, can we had a few more glasses.LOL
Hey French, A very original post! I am not much of a drinker either. I am kind of a light weight in that regard (an only in that regard - LOL). I had a chocolate martini last summer and it was delish! Your little birds were a cute touch! ~ Robyn
Pretty party for two. I love those little silver birds. All of the silver looks so elegant. laurie
I don't drink but I'm loving those glasses!!! I wonder if my pepsi would look SNAZZY in those!
Hi Lisa, What a warm and inviting tablescape! :)

Oh, and great list below!
Well, these drinks are not my thing.... I'm with you on the coffee! The setup sure does look pretty. Is that a crystal ball I see? Ask it what my future holds the next time you've got it out.
Btw.. I love those silver birds! Are those S&P?
Justine :o )
Now you're talkin' my language: MARTINI!!!!!
I have a martini recipe for you...it's the best!
Frozen Bacardi Margarita concentrate...prepare as a mixer (no liquor)
1.25 oz Bacardi Razz
0.75 oz Blue Island Pucker
0.50 oz Margarita mix
Splash of Sprite or soda water
Grenadine float
Tastes just like PF Chang's Bomb Pop martini!
Awwww, you got me with the birds trying to sneak in a kiss! :-) We have a little thing here at the Fernbank Museum of Natural History in Atlanta called "Martinis and Imax." Imagine watching an Imax movie while sipping your first, or second, martini. :-) It's quite the fun!
Susan
Hiya Lisa...now this is thinking outside of the box...clever! I'm thinking an apple-tini might be alrighty...
