Tablescape Tuesday and A Partridge on a Pear Table?

My second table scape Tuesday, and literally my second table scape ever!; which is hosted by Susan over here
I am honored to be part of this fun activity considering all the experts out there but I am truly enjoying trying all the different things;)

This is my ode to the famous Christmas song "A Partridge in a Pear Tree" except my version is "A Partridge on my Pear Table" (winks;) Aren't these little birds precious!! Only $3 each on sale at the local fabric store!!(woohoo)! The glittering pears from TJ Maxx as well as the candle holders I lusted after (Lynne) it's the bling that kept calling my name ( psst French buy us!!) so after the fourth visit I broke down and bought them! The white tablecloth has little silver snowflakes!!

I only set the table for four this time, colors are silver, white, black and a hint of purple and gold...weird combination yet I think it works;)

The small plates are part of a full set I received from my mother-in-law because she said I would appreciate them (who knew) wait it gets better!

Here are the candle holders I lusted after;) I don't know why...... they just looked so different then what I would usually buy and I immediately thought of the color scheme to use it with!

It's odd seeing silver with all the gold in my room but it's a definite contrast!

Look at the back of the small plates! I actually have a full setting of 4 (minus one teacup that got broken) sigh~~~~

Here's my surprise!!! I totally forgot my mother-in-law had given these to me!!! They were well hidden up in that cabinet you know the one you never go into! And to my surprise.... See how the light makes the colors in the plate look gold? They really are silver except in different light they can look gold too they work with both colors (how great is that!)

Look at the back!!!! I immediately screamed like a sissy girl (lol Picket!) I had no idea, so of course I had to look them up online to find out if I could get more of the set because all I have is 8 dinner plates and I can get them! The pattern is Wild Oats.....(kind of suitable for me;)

So here's my second table scape and many many thanks to all you ladies that have inspired me to try this and continue playing with different ideas!!
These are all the dishes I have except for the ones we use every day which I may do a simple every day table scape with just for fun!

Have a wonderful tour during the Table scape Tuesday and keep the ideas coming;)
Hugs and Happy Holidays!!

Tally too;)

This is absolutely beautiful. I love your candleholders, and those partridges!! I would have done the sissy girl scream, too, if I'd found a Wedgwood anything. Ooooo, child, Ebay is calling....

I love the colors--so elegant!
I don't think tablescaping is about quantity, but about creativity--and your cup runneth over, Madame French. You will have so much fun with placemats, napkins, napkin rings and little figural pieces to interweave with your freaking unbelievable Wedgwood.
Hugs,
Gollum

Wowza french! That is just stunning! Love it. So, now...do you keep it up until Christmas?

Have a wonderfully Merry and delightful Christmas dear friend!

Lisa (aka) French said...

No I don't keep it up until Christmas because we have a Xmas eve drop in so the table has to be taken down and re-done for that, then a different one for Christmas day and New Year's eve dinners;) This one I think I will use for New Years! Thanks for all the wonderful comments;0) Hugs French;)
PS Holidays are the only time that dining room gets used (lol) so I have to have fun with it while I can!

Every thing is so pretty! Isn't funny how we find things we were given and they are so great now! I love the wedgewood, reminds me of a pattern Mother had when I was a little girl! Maybe her mother-in-law gave it to her. lol Long gone now. But you are lucky! You have it and had a wonderful scream, I think I heard it all the way here, no that was my new speakers! lol
