That song is a perfect background for the beautiful and very true video. I am so grateful that at this time my parents are both happy and healthy. My heart goes out to everyone who's hearts are heavy for parents who are not well. I can't even begin to understand the sorrow. My prayers are with you and your families!

Lisa this has me in tears!! My dad died of Alzhiemer's. We did the best we could, at the end he could not remember our names, but he never forgot my mom!

She was the love of his life and he, hers. I wish Donna strength to continue caring for her mom, it's not easy but so worth it.

Lisa, my dad had beginning Alzheimer's and lived with us for awhile. It's such a hard thing to deal with. He was on dialysis and for awhile he was coherent enough that the doctors felt he could make an informed decision to quit dialysis. The part in the video about not wanting to live anymore reminded me of him and how hard this was to accept. The older I get though the more I understand that logic. They told us he could linger for months but he died within a week of stopping the dialysis. He was 79. He was so ready to go. He had a 4-year-old daughter, a 14-year-old son, and my mother pass on before him (not counting parents or other relatives) and I think he was just ready to go and be with them again. This truly is beautiful. Thanks for sharing it with us.

I love the video! Although my parents aren't suffering with illness the video reminded me to be more patient with the 'hard of hearing' issue and the repeated stories. I love my parents so much and dread the time when they begin so show their age because they are now very youthful for their age.
Thanks for sharing the video.

my Mother in Law's dad had this horrible disease...I am not sure how his wife survived with such grace. My heart breaks for families that have to live with this issue

It's so hard to see a parent suffer. When one is a caretaker of the parent it's even more difficult. I know, I've been there.

Baby steps is good at least she is home.

French,

I am sitting here in tears... all choked up. I often need to remember "A Parents Wish" as I get impatient or frustrated.

Thank you so much. You have no idea how much I needed to see that clip. It was powerful!

I can't thank you enough!

Oh okay so she is home. Good! Sorry I had trouble following. My brain is a bit slow today. I saw the She is home baby steps line but thought it had to do with Donna's mother. lol!

Well I do not get along with my mother at all but she didn't try so I wish the best for you with your daughter.

You seem very giving and caring and I know she will appreciate it one day. Just remember that she thinks she's an "adult" right now so try treating her like one??? With limits of course. lol.

Oh and she is beautiful by the way. Just like her mommy.

I didn't get to see you on RMS! I'm so upset. I hope to catch the re-run. Donna was funny with her blog about it.

I was at my sister's house so I missed it. It was our anniversary on the 11th and we weren't home... I blogged about it but I had it set to post automatically while I was gone.
