The Book of Questions....Things to ponder.....

I have a small book by Gregory Stock PH.D. that is called " The Book of Questions" there are 200 questions that really make you think about life....here are a few for you to ponder..

  1. Do you believe in ghosts or evil spirits? Would you be willing to spend one night alone in a remote house that is supposedly haunted?

  2. If you were to die tonight with no opportunity to communicate with anyone, what would you most regret not having told someone? Why haven't you told them?

  3. You discover your wonderful one year old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to correct the mistake?

  4. If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the body or the mind of a 30 year old for the last 60 years of your life, which one would you want?

  5. If you could use a voodoo doll to hurt anyone without being discovered would you?

  6. Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it meant there would be no hunger left in the world?

  7. If God appeared to you in a series of vivid dreams and told you to leave everything behind, travel alone to the Red Sea and become a fisherman, what would you do? What if you were told to sacrifice your child?

  8. What is your most treasured memory?

  9. Do your close friends tend to be older or younger than you?

  10. Your house that contains everything you own, catches fire; after saving your loved ones and pets you have time to save just one more thing what would it be and why?

  11. Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and will die within a month. He begs you to give him poison so that he can die. Would you? What if it were your father!

  12. If you could choose the manner of your death would you? What would it be?

  13. If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?

  14. Would it disturb you much if, upon your death, your body were simply thrown into the woods and left to rot? Why?

  15. Do you feel you have much impact on the lives of people you come into contact with? Can you think of someone who, over a short period of time, significantly influenced your life?

Some really deep questions and these were some of the tamer ones....just things that make you think;) Have fun with it..no need to tell me your answers it's all about thinking it for yourself but if you want to share any of your replies please do!

Those are some powerful questions there girly ;)

The one that sticks out in my head is the body or mind of a 30 year old. I choose body, because at 30, I was an idiot LOL I miss that body anyway ;)

Oh and Kathy, most people don't blog on Sundays. I think they're at church.

French, these are some pretty in depth questions my friend. I plan on really thinking about them. Good way to do a reality check and keep myself on the course I want to be on! I have to tell you though, #10 on what would you save from a fire. My mother-in-law's family had such a fire. Her mother ran in and grabbed a doll that was my mother-in-law's (MIL was about 3 at the time of the fire if I remember right) and that's what she saved from the fire! Wanda (MIL who is 80-something) still has it and it is her prized possession. I'll have to ask her if she knows why her mother grabbed it.

Sure, just give me a bottle of tequilla, a lime, and a sharp knife and I can do it. haha

I can't say that there is anything I haven't said that needs be said. I let people know that I love them.

You discover your wonderful one year old child is, because of a mix-up at the hospital not yours. Would you want to exchange the child to correct the mistake?

Oh my gosh this would kill me but I'd have to return the baby to her/his original mother. I would hope to be it's godmother.

If you were able to live to the age of 90 and retain either the body or the mind of a 30 year old for the last 60 years of your life, which one would you want?

BODY.

If you could use a voodoo doll to hurt anyone without being discovered would you?

Taking the fifth on this one!

Would you be willing to murder an innocent person if it meant there would be no hunger left in the world?

I would have to kill myself first.

If God appeared to you in a series of vivid dreams and told you to leave everything behind, travel alone to the Red Sea and become a fisherman, what would you do? What if you were told to sacrifice your child?

I don't think God is going to ask me to do these things.

What is your most treasured memory?

Spending the summer with my granny on her farm. We milked cows, snapped peas, fed the chickens, made butter, sold eggs and butter to the local Piggly Wiggly grocery store.

Do your close friends tend to be older or younger than you?

Both really.

Your house that contains everything you own, catches fire; after saving your loved ones and pets you have time to save just one more thing what would it be and why?
Quite honeslty, nothing is that important. If I had my loved ones I'd be grateful.

Someone very close to you is in pain, paralyzed, and will die within a month. He begs you to give him poison so that he can die. Would you? What if it were your father!

I would most definitley help him.

If you could choose the manner of your death would you? What would it be?
Die peacefully in sleep.

If you could change anything about the way you were raised, what would it be?

I had to grow up too fast and wished that that hadn't been the case.

Would it disturb you much if, upon your death, your body were simply thrown into the woods and left to rot? Why?

Not really. My soul has already moved on.

Do you feel you have much impact on the lives of people you come into contact with? Can you think of someone who, over a short period of time, significantly influenced your life?

Hmmmm. I think I've played a SMALL part in people's lives when they've been on job searches just because of what I do for a living. Yes, Zig Ziglar.

I frequently use The Kids' Book of Questions in my classroom for journal topics, or even a quick discussion if we have an extra 10-15 minutes. It really stimulates thinking!
Another great "question" book is IF... There is a series of these, also.
Hope you're having a good weekend!

Great post French, made me think, I will have to look out for that book.
I have to just say now though, that It WOULD disturb me if my dead body was thrown into the woods and left to rot. ugh,

I would haunt all of my family and friends for the rest of their lives if they did that to me haha. hugs Kathy.
