Grand Illusion or Optical Illusion?

Old man or lovers?
Read this sentence, then read it a few more times.
Duck or rabbit?
The grey lines are straight.
Woman or sax player?
This is a perfect circle.

Is the ball moving?
The center circles are the same size.
Face of an Eskimo or the whole Eskimo?

These dots are completely white.
Magic and illusions have always fascinated me, is it trickery of the eye or the mind? Sort of like decorating I think~~~beauty is in the eyes of the beholder...sometimes your eyes like what they see and perhaps sometimes the eyes convince the brain it likes what it sees...
The human body and our senses are so finely tuned like a well oiled machine I find it incredible that there are so many moving parts, that work in total synchronicity! Well most of the time they do! Unless of course you try this~~~~you know you will, you know you want to, go ahead try it!

How smart is Your Right Foot? Just try this, it is from an orthopedic surgeon.....
It will boggle your mind and you will keep trying over and over again to see if you can outsmart your foot, but you can't!
It's pre-programmed in your brain! Now try this:

1. WITHOUT anyone watching you (they WILL think you are GOOFY...)while sitting where you are at your desk in front of your computer, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number '6' in the air with your right hand.Your foot will change direction, i.e., to counterclockwise. I told you so! And there's nothing you can do about it! You and I both know how stupid it is, but before the day is done you are going to try it again, if you've not already done so.
Have a great day!

Dang it French, you're right! I've tried it several times and now it's keeping me from work! LOL! Good thing I work alone in my office or coworkers would be "weirded" out!

LOL! Nope I can't do it! But I have one for you..extend both arms out in front of you, point your index fingers towards each other, now try and make them go in opposite directions...one clockwise the other counter clockwise.....

I am always fascinated by these things, too, no matter how many times I see them! The foot & #6 thing always gets me!

Good morning French, I must admit I looked at your post late last night and could not see any of those alternate images you mentioned ie the lovers, sax player, whole eskimo, but was sooo tired so I came back this morning and YES there they are haha. The right foot thingy is so funny, been trying to beat it, but noooo, not happening haha. great post. Kathy.

Hi French--found your post linked from Justine's blog and definitely had to comment.

I don't find this foot/six thing difficult at all. Am I crazy or what?

Regarding the Paris quote, Kathy, there are two instances of "the" in a row if you read it very carefully.

That was a fun blog entry. Thanks for posting--I enjoyed it!

Some of these pics were actually creepy. The first one, I only see an old man. The sentence you were supposed to read over and over... what was supposed to happen there? And what about the triangle about Paris?
And what dots are all white? I see squares!

Justine :o )

omg! I have seen all of the visual puzzles before. I think they are all cool, but I had never done the foot one before. That is totally weird. I mean tapping your head and rubbing your tummy is difficult, but can be mastered, I'm not sure about this one, but I don't care how goofy I look, I am going to challenge my brain to overcome this one. It's actually suppose to be good for your brain to challenge it with something new (keeps away the dementia and alzheimers-hopefully), which is why I do crosswords and sudoku. Thanks for the new one. Chae thinks it's freaky.

OMG, I finally read this post! The foot thing is pretty freaky...even more so than the classic pat your head, rub your belly trick.
You have the most creative posts!
Hugs, Bridget
