Is "White" the new Black?

What a cool idea for a desk~~hide the clutter!
I want this dresser!!!
Love the coffered ceiling in here!
Oh lookie pops of orange!!
Love the botanicals
A picture wall.....yummy!

More and more I find myself falling in love the color "white"....but wait it's not a color?
There is nothing I love more than wearing freshly ironed white clothing in the summertime...maybe it's the season drawing me to the color? Gollum spoke of every room having a hint of black....I believe the same is true with white...just a hint somewhere be it candles...matting on prints...etc....
Here are just a few that caught my attention.. simple but not formal....elegant but not fussy!

French;)

I think you have hit on something here. I too am finding myself drawn to white. As it so happens, I wore all white today.
The room with the botanicals really speaks to me and that dresser is so perfect for you!

I am feeling the same way. You can be shabby chic or elegant in white. Yet when we see a room on RMS we always say paint. I think it is because in these rooms they have more stuff, with diffrent textures .That makes the eye not feel so cold.Kathy

Love the botanicals over the fireplace. If I had done it, I never would have thought of only putting two on the very top. I would have stopped at the perfect square. I suck at decorating! LOL

I agree with you. White is just so crisp and clean. A bonus is that it photographs better. My daughter has black accents and linenes in her room and it's really hard to get a good picture of it. Have a great weekend!

White scares me! I own absolutely NO white clothing!
These all white rooms seem very refreshing, but I don't think I could live there.

Hi there Frenchie

I always thought white rooms were just waiting to be painted, but it really can look gorgeous!

Hi French, all the rooms look lovely, I love that dresser too but you'll have to get all the assessories to go with it, they are beautiful too. You have great taste. Deb

I think one time that was true 'white was not a color' but I don't feel nowadays the same can be said. There is such a spectrum of them now ranging from cool 'n stark to warm and inviting.

Great pics French!!! I particularly like the coffered ceiling. That is another thing you are seeing more of; ceilings with some architectural or design interest. (No more bland white ones...T.G.)

Girl, if you want extensions, then go for it! These aren't the expensive weave kind. They actually are taped/glued onto my hair and will last anywhere from 2-6 weeks, depending on how much product I use, etc. I figure if we don't do these slightly crazy things now, we never will, right?
I've always been crazy with my hair though. In HS I was known as the girl with the purple hair. It was actually a really intense pinkish burgandy. I used to use something by Sebastian called Cellophane. Cool cool stuff. Wonder if they still make it?

You know I love a touch of white, but alas it can't be more than a touch because of the furry babies and human babies running around.

love ya,
rue
